Your workspace is the editor interface where a graphical representation of the open audio wave form is displayed.

The highlighted area in the illustration is a block of selected samples which represent a portion of sound. With a few exceptions, all the editing is applied to the selected area. You can, of course, select all the samples in the audio file, or you can select only the samples in one of the tracks.

As shown in the above illustrations, the scales are set to display decibels along the right, vertical scale and samples along the bottom horizontal scale.

The vertical scale can also be set to display norms or decibels while the horizontal can be changed to milliseconds. You may also change the color properties of the display to meet your taste or needs from the setup module.

The file and selection indices are constantly updated in the status bar at the bottom of the page.

Any or all of the control panels to the right of the waveform workspace with the minimize buttons.

Use the scroll bar to move the controls up or down.

Use the Alt key plus the first letter of a menu to drop down a list of menu items from the main menu.

	To select a menu item from an open menu list, press the underscored letter on your keyboard. For example, Alt+ F then X will close the application		Some menu items have additional shortcuts that don't require dropping down the menu list. These are typically standard Windows key combinations such as Ctrl+C for copy and Ctrl+A for select all. See the list below.

Alternative Display Settings

If your screen resolution supports screen widths above 800 pixels and height above 600 pixels you can set the properties of Fx Audio Editor to use large icons as pictured below.

At a width of 800 + and a height less than 600 only three toolbar levels are displayed.
